The Logo Contest For The 64th International DX Convention
Next April 2013 In Visalia -- Is Now Officially Open !

The Theme for the 64th IDXC 2013 Meeting doesn't exist yet -- for a good reason.  We're going to let your Logo ideas flow into both a suitable Theme and suitable Logo for the Convention.

To help stimulate your creative thinking, the covers of the Convention Guides from the last 6 years are shown at the bottom of this page (scroll down). Notice the variety of logo shapes: Diamond (2007), Octagon (2008), Rectangle (2009), Oval (2010, 2011), Square (2012).  Just about any shape will work.

Most importantly, however, is the "crowding factor". You'll notice some logos are easy to read -- clean. Others are more difficult.  Our logo from 2011, while artistically very attractive, was nevertheless difficult to reproduce clearly and very difficult to sew on the Convention Shirt.  Keep this thought in mind as you design away.

These 5 elements of the logo are mandatory and must be included in your design:

1. The phrase "64th Annual"
2. The Dates: "April 19-21, 2013" or just "April 2013"
3. "Visalia, CA" or "Visalia, California"
4. Both "NCDXC" and "SCDXC" abbreviations
5. The phrase "International DX Convention"   Note: You can also include the abbreviation "IDXC" on the logo, but the full name must also be present.

Where you place these elements, how they are positioned relative to one another, and the use of any other additional graphic elements -- is up to you.

So, put on your creative thinking caps.  Use your imagination, and come up with a design that you think will embody the spirit of this highly visible DX Convention.  Remember, we're looking for BOTH a suitable Theme and Logo that will work well together.

Our preference is to receive your entry via email to k6mm@arrl.net   Please try to design and save it in the highest quality resolution possible.  The standard printing resolution is 300 dots-per-inch (dpi).  Acceptable formats include .PNG, .JPG, .PDF, .TIFF and .PSD (Photoshop). These are the best for scaling graphics.  If you are a talented artist and choose to design something on paper, snail mail it to the address below and we will scan it for you.

The deadline for submission of all entries is the end of this month: at 5:00 PM on Friday, August 31, 2012.

We will take all entries, and put them up on the NCDXC website for review, and then you will have a chance to vote for your favorite one.

The winner will receive a free 2013 IDXC Convention Shirt -- compliments of the 2013 IDXC committee.  More importantly you will get to see your fantastic creation displayed everywhere:  The Convention Guide, Convention Shirt, Convention Patch, Convention Website, The DXer Newsletter, and all over the internet.

This Logo Contest is open to ALL NCDXC members.
