Chat -- NCDXC Discussion List

About Chat
English (USA)

General DX discussion for Northern California DX Club members and friends of the club.

I wanted to share some thoughts how this list should work. Nothing is cast
in stone but I have been running several other lists (some with 1000+
members) and have found this model to work the best in case like us:

1) The list is open for all DXers. We would like everyone to be NCDXC
members but it is not strict requirement. If you're not a member yet, we'd
like you to join us.

2) We would like to be Northern California centric. Ie. when you bring up
DX News, please don't just copy them out from bulletins. Include little
bit more specific info how the news applies to us in Northern California:
what times can you get them hre, did you work them here... what band, mode
& frequency?

3) The list is "semi moderated". What this means is that by default
everyone gets moderated but after couple of emails the moderation from
each subscriber will be lifted and emails will get delivered immediately.

4) Don't be afraid of high volume. If anyone is interested, there is
digest format of the list available for those who want to get only one
summary email per day.

5) Archiving: this list will NOT be archived (by me). So, what's said on
the list, stays on the list. Of course, that doesn't mean that someone
else might be sharing discussions with 3rd party.

6) This list should be mostly about DXing so we should try to stay in
topics about DXing. DX, propagation, equipment, tools, events, operating
practices... etc. If it's part of DXing, it's OK here.

7) This list is for all levels of DXing: beginners, intermediate and those
who have them all and beyond. Don't be afraid of bringing any DX topics
up.

8) We're a friendly club, this is a friendly list. Don't be afraid of
mistakes or errors.

9) Bashing and trashing will not be tolerated. Of course, constructive
fact based critique (about the club?) is allowed but please avoid
flammable style and explosive adjectives.

10) This list is for you. Please use it or lose it. We can change things
if needed to make it better serve you.
